Concept Mapping featured at the First Science of Team Science Conference, Chicago

June 4th, 2010

The field of Team Science is an important development in recognizing and supporting the needs of research conducted collaboratively at universities and elsewhere. The "Science of Team Science" refers to planning, managing and evaluating the structures, activities, priorities, tools and impacts of team research and relies upon systematic knowledge sharing and collaboration. It makes a great deal of sense, then, to use Concept Mapping to define Team Science, and the First Science of Team Science Conference held in Chicago in April did just that. To help define the field and organize the Conference discussions, attendees contributed to a concept mapping initiative prior to the meeting. Prof. Bill Trochim and his colleagues, with Concept Systems' expert planning and technical support, produced a foundational conceptual framework for the over 150 attendees to use as a working template for organizing team science issues, people, and technology.
