Define User Demographics (Admin/Create/Demographics)

All demographic variables are created, modified or deleted from this screen.

To add a new demographic variable to your project:

1. Click on the Add button.

2. Enter a name for the new user demographic variable, such as “Position” or “Age.”

3. Enter an instruction, or prompt, for the user, such as “Select your position within the company.” or “Enter your age.”

4. Select either the Categorical or Continuous tab at the right.

5. Enter possible values for the variable:

20000001.gif For Categorical variables, enter the values one at a time.

20000001.gif For Continuous variables, enter the minimum and maximum values.

6. Click on Done. (The new demographic variable will appear in the Name Select box at the top of the screen.)

To delete an existing demographic variable:

1. Select the variable name from the Name Select box at the top of the screen.

2. Click on the Delete button.

To modify an existing demographic variable:

1. Select the variable name from the Name Select box at the top of the screen.

2. Click in the text box of the item you want to modify and make the change.

To modify the values of an existing demographic variable:

1. Select the variable name from the Name Select box at the top of the screen.

2. Change the values:

20000001.gif For a Categorical variable, double-click on the value on the Categorical tab and make the change. (You can only change one value at a time. To change another value, save your change and double-click on the next value.)

20000001.gif For a Continuous variable, click in the Minimum or Maximum values box and make the change.

Note: If you need to change the type (i.e., Continuous or Categorical) of a demographic variable, simply delete the variable and add it again with the desired changes.
