In order to accomplish a good interpretation, it is important that the facilitator be familiar with the initial map results.
The facilitator should explore the point and cluster maps thoroughly, formulating some rough ideas about what kinds of statements wind up in different areas of the maps. This is important so that the facilitator can respond quickly to questions from participants about where certain types of statements are generally located and so that the facilitator can make an informed judgment about the initial number of clusters to use in the interpretation session.
