The major difficulty in on-screen sorting is that the participants may not be familiar or comfortable with using the computer to sort statements.

The best approach for dealing with this is to do a short “dry run” sorting during which participants can concentrate on becoming familiar with the program (rather than worrying about the content). The facilitator can illustrate the sorting procedure on a projected screen or allow the participants a few minutes to become comfortable with the process themselves.
